Joe Conyers III is the Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Songtrust , and the VP of Technology for Downtown Music Publishing. Songtrust, an online service that helps music makers and rights holders collect their royalties, is Downtown’s rights management platform. Conyers has grown the company to service over 150,000 creators and 15,000 businesses with works recorded by Brandy Clark, Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, Frank Ocean, and other GRAMMY-nominated artists. In his role at Downtown Music Publishing, Conyers oversees digital and new media licensing, product management, and other technology-focused initiatives.

Conyers was named a Digital Power Player by Billboard for the last three consecutive years. He advises and invests in startups individually, through Downtown’s portfolio, and as a Techstars Music Mentor. Conyers is a part of the Operational Advisory Committee for the Mechanical Licensing Collective and  serves on the young alumni board of Pace University’s Seidenberg school.
