Maxfield Music, founded in 2015 by Kristen Maxfield, is an integrative music school in Fairport, NY, located just outside the city of Rochester and is adjacent to the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York. We offer individual and group lessons in Voice, Piano, Basic Musicianship (Theory), Sight Singing, Ear Training, and Songwriting and in a variety of genres including, but not limited to, Jazz, R&B, Classical, Broadway, Country and Pop. We also offer Networking Opportunities, Master Classes, Workshops and other events with world-renowned producers, songwriters and musicians within all genres of the music business.
Kristen Maxfield is a seasoned vocal and piano instructor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Vocal Performance. She is well-versed in many musical genres including, but not limited to: R&B, Jazz, Blues, Country, Pop, Classical and Musical Theater. In the music industry for nearly 15 years, she’s worked as a backup vocalist for national tours, a studio musician, a choir professional, as well as a singer/songwriter for her own bands based in New York City, Philadelphia and Rochester, NY.
She’s worked with a number of professional musicians in the entertainment industry to include Scott Sharrard & Jay Collins (Greg Allman Band); Ian Hendrickson-Smith (Amy Winehouse, Al Green, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings); Dan Stein (produced Bonnie Raitt); Charles Martinez (Produced/Engineered Kristen Chenoweth, Donald Fagen and Steely Dan); Ron Thompson (studio and live musician for various artists); Thomas Gooding (various artists).
In addition, Kristen has 15 years of audition preparation experience and five years of teaching private one-on- one vocal lessons.
Kristen has released three albums throughout her career and is currently working on her fourth studio album.
