Joel Timen has been working in music since his mid-teens. After starting a music venue in Southern Oregon, he spent close to 10 years touring the U.S., playing drums for various bands. He was able to co-write on and record drums on multiple albums in various genres including one album produced by Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace, Kelly Clarkson). He transitioned from the artist side to the management side a number of years ago and developed a handful of artists. Upon moving to Nashville, he turned his focus to producers and songwriters and was able to partner with them to land multiple cuts, sync placements and publishing deals for his clients. Eventually, Timen found his way to music publishing and now works at Word Music Publishing. His day-to-day focuses include film and TV placements for the catalog, in addition to pitching to multiple genres and handling calendars for a number of staff writers and artists.
